When police officer Stéphane (Bonnard) moves to the Paris suburbs, he discovers an underworld where tensions between different gangs are at boiling point…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

No, this isn’t another adaptation of the classic Victor Hugo novel – which also means there’s zero chance of a singing Russell Crowe, which is nice – but this Oscar-nominated French drama shares many of the timeless story’s themes of class and sharp political divide.
