WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Lara Croft (Vikander) is the independent daughter of eccentric adventurer Richard (West), who refuses to take control of her father’s global empire as much as she’s willing to accept the fact that he is gone. However, when she becomes drawn to solving the mystery of his death, she leaves everything she knows behind and set out to find her father’s last-known location: a fabled tomb on a mythical island somewhere off the coast of Japan. Armed with only her sharp mind, strong skills and fierce spirit, she faces dangerous obstacles and even deadlier adversaries as she journeys further into the unknown…

IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD YOU BE EXCITED?

Alicia Vikander gives Angelina Jolie a run for her money as she takes on a rebooted film version of the classic video game character, and if luck is on her side it could well be the first genuinely good adaptation of a video game.
