• The pre-school phenomenon returns with its third feature-film spin-off, but with a prehistoric twist!
• It is based on the popular Dino Rescue strand from the show, which introduced young audiences to the exciting world of dinosaurs
• There are some recognisable names among the voice cast, including Mckenna Grace, Jameela Jamil, Terry Crews, Paris Hilton, and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson (though some of those names might be drowned out by the UK dub, as they unfortunately were in the last couple films)
• On the soundtrack, not only is Captain Marvel composer Pinar Toprak providing the musical score, but none other than the Backstreet Boys themselves have contributed an all-new song for kids to dance along to!
• It’s the perfect summer blockbuster for your little ones to enjoy – and I know that my own three-year-old nephew, who loves both PAW Patrol and dinosaurs, will be in heaven when he watches this!

• The kids are far from alright in filmmaker Eli Roth’s gory new slasher that goes for broke with its refreshingly bonkers premise
• Roth directs and co-writes, and also takes on a small supporting role, in the first film by his new horror-centric media company The Horror Section
• It introduces a new slasher villain for the books with Ari Millen as the mysterious titular figure, whose sinister and twisted approach could make him a match for even Art the Clown!
• As ever with Roth, the excessive gore is created with some wince-inducing effects that make it all feel painfully real
• It’ll make you look at your own kids very differently, especially as the young’uns engage in some rather shocking exploitation cinema violence here!

• The Broken Lizard troupe are back once more to reprise their roles from the sleeper hit 2001 comedy Super Troopers
• As with the previous two movies, all five members co-wrote the script and star in the film, with fellow member Jay Chandrasekhar also directing the film
• Some surprisingly intense action offsets the hilarious oddball comedy that made the original movie a revered cult classic
• Some fresher comic faces get the chance to shine, such as past and present SNL cast members Jon Rudnitsky and Andrew Dismukes, and The Boys star Chace Crawford
• Anyone who enjoyed the wild and politically incorrect humour of past Broken Lizard offerings will feel right at home in this wacky continuation

Super Troopers 3 is showing in cinemas from Friday 7 August 2026

• A harrowing depiction of womanhood and the struggle with femininity lies at the heart of writer-director Anna Cazenave Cambet’s quietly powerful drama
• Adapting Constance Debré’s book of the same name, Cambet explores numerous hard-hitting themes that most women, regardless of their sexuality, can relate to
• Vicky Krieps delivers some of her best work to date as a woman whose path to self-liberation comes at an increasingly devastating cost
• It made its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the Queer Palm
• With elements of Kramer vs Kramer in the plot, it might just be an idea to sneak a bunch of tissues into the screen because you may well need them!

• The film has received widespread acclaim for its mature handling of heavy themes, some gorgeous cinematography capturing the striking Finnish archipelagos, and Close’s tender performance
• It topped the box office during its early 2025 opening weekend in Jansson’s native Finland, beating some more prominent titles like Nosferatu and Babygirl
• The film will move audiences with its sincere and heartfelt storytelling that is powerful enough to pierce the soul of the toughest viewer

• Brace yourself for an animated experience unlike any other with this vividly unique adult-centric drama that blends authentic human drama with decisively non-human aesthetics
• The CGI animation was created on Blender, the same open-source software used to create the Oscar-winning Flow, by filmmakers Orian Barki and Meriem Bennani
• It tackles intricate themes of family, queer identity, the line between reality and fiction, and the deeper psychological tolls of being so geographically removed from one’s culture
• Somewhat unsurprisingly, due to its heavily stylised animal characters, the film has gained popularity among Letterboxd’s “furry” community – take that however you will!
• It’s a fascinating experimental film that shows how animation can advance certain types of storytelling without drawing too much attention to its overt style

• This creepy and intense sci-fi thriller evokes some painful memories of the COVID-19 lockdowns when, much like the characters in this movie, we were forced to stay inside our homes
• The threat in director Louis Leterrier’s movie isn’t a deadly virus but an unseen threat which may or may not be of Earthly origin, which is just as terrifying if not more so!
• Oscar-nominee Wagner Moura and Past Lives star Greta Lee form a formidable team as they and their on-screen children set out to survive under their exceptional circumstances
• Leterrier brings to life the latest screenplay by Matthew Robinson, who also had a critical hit earlier this year with Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die
• While the comparisons to THAT year are unavoidable, this film does a fine job of making its sinister premise stand out beyond all that

• The recently-passed Sam Neill (RIP) and Julian Dennison form an unlikely duo in the spirit of Pixar’s Up as the subjects of a hilarious manhunt that only Waititi could pull off
• The film received universal critical and audience acclaim upon its release, and in years since has seen its cult following grow even larger
• Whatever your opinions of Waititi may be now, there’s no denying that his film is as charming and as funny as it was ten years ago

• Aardman continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary with the re-release of one of its more technically accomplished features, which itself is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year
• It was the Claymation studio’s first – and to date only – fully-CG animated movie, a necessary move since the heavy use of water would have damaged the original plasticine models
• The voice cast ranks among Aardman’s starriest, with some of the big names including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet and Ian McKellen
• While critics were generally warm to it, the film was a box office disappointment that caused the termination of Aardman’s creative partnership with DreamWorks Animation
• In more recent years, it’s resurfaced as a delightfully high-energy offering from the studio that audiences have enjoyed more and more
