PLOT: 28 years after the Rage virus swept across Britain, humans have managed to coexist with the infected, with one community secluding itself on a small island with only a heavily guarded causeway connecting them with the more dangerous mainland. When scavenger Jamie (Taylor-Johnson) and his son Spike (Williams) head out on a mission into the mainland, leaving behind the heavily pregnant Isla (Comer), they discover some horrifying truths about not just the infected, but the surviving humans…

FIVE REASONS TO BE EXCITED:

  • Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, the respective director and writer of the 2002 original, return to the franchise with a fresh new vision of the intense wasteland that was once Britain
  • Among the new cast are heavy-hitters like Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, as well as reliable faces such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sinners star Jack O’Connell – and rumour has it, there may even be room for Cillian Murphy’s original survivor Jim to make an appearance
  • It is set to be the first in an all-new trilogy, with the second instalment – directed by Nia DaCosta – having already wrapped production and due for release next year
  • Get ready to feel your heart racing ten times its normal rate once more as you witness the horrors among the genuinely scary infected and the arguably more monstrous human survivors
