This Week’s Movie Menu (20 – 26 May 2024)

Oh, what a day! What a lovely day! Even more so, given that there’s a truly eclectic new collection of film releases to spotlight, including an apocalyptic prequel, the animated tales of a cartoon cat, a space adventure with Jennifer Lopez, and the drug-infused misadventures of a lairy Scottish gang…

  • Of course, there is plenty of that bombastic and explosive action that turned the previous film into one of the decade’s most outstanding action movies

  • The Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker makes a compelling feature debut that blends ghostly visions with the very real danger of misogyny
  • Some chilling imagery and tightly-wound editing create an unnerved atmosphere that leaves you holding your breath with suspense
